The egr is a valve that now adays is electronically actuated. The code probably refers to the electronic portion of the valve. I鈥檓 guessing the code is for the position sensor, either the sensor isn鈥檛 able to sense the position of the valve. It may even refer to the valves initial resting position or learned minimum voltage. Hi, I have a Peugeot 407 1.6 HDi and the egr valve is located at the back right-hand side of the engine as you look at it. Remove the air filter and associated pipes and you will see it. Normally I can drive for 10-15 minutes, and the code comes up again. This is what Iv'e been able to find about this fault code: 5008. 407 2.0HDi. BlIhM.
